Adolph Sweek, age 89, W5275 Terrace View Road, Tomahawk, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2012 at Golden Living Center - Riverview in Tomahawk under hospice care.
Adolph was born December 6, 1922 in Stevens Point, the son of the late Frank and Marion Sweek. He married Fran Whalen on September 11, 1962 in Tomahawk. Adolph was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving with the ground crew for the Flying Tigers during WWII in India, China, and Burma. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, photography, swimming, and especially enjoyed making maple syrup. He was an all-around handyman, an organic gardener, and enjoyed rock hounding. Adolph was employed with Owens-Illinois for 35 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk.

Adolph is further survived by 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, and 6 brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Adolph Sweek will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 10, 2012 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk. Fr. Edward Powell will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass at 1:00 p.m. Burial with Military Rites will follow Mass at Calvary Cemetery in Tomahawk. Memorials to the family are appreciated.
