Alan Bauman, age 84, formerly of Tomahawk, passed away Friday, January 28, 2011 at Bell Tower Residence in Merrill.
Alan was born October 30, 1926 in Marshfield, the son of Louis and Elsie (Wismeth) Bauman. He attended schools in Marshfield, graduating from Marshfield Senior High in 1944. He then attended Ripon College through the Army Program until December 1944, when he entered the U.S. Army, serving the in the South Pacific with the Infantry Unit until being wounded in December 1945. He was a proud veteran. He went on to attend the University of Wisconsin - Madison, graduating with B.B.S. and B.S. Degrees in 1949.
Alan was employed with Northern Auto Supply in Marshfield from 1949 - 1958. He moved to Wausau in 1959, and managed Northern Welding Supply Co. before returning to Marshfield in 1964, where he joined Myron Sanders and Marshfield Oil Co., serving as president of the company from 1975 until his retirement in 1986. He moved to Tomahawk, entering the Real Estate business and in 1993, he started Vacationland Properties / Better Homes & Gardens Realty. Alan will be remembered for his never-ending positive outlook on life. He was an avid Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay Packers fan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and reading.
Alan was married to Patricia Connaughty in 1947, and together they had 7 children; she passed away in 1988. He later married Barbara Clemmer in 2001, with whom he resided until his passing.

Great Grandchildren Jon & Lauren Rohr, Alex & Joey Arndt, Jack & Will Nikolay, Drew & Luke Nepstad, Madison & Jack Fuller, Grace Gierszewski, Rowan & Alena Bauman, and one more on the way.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents, his wife - Patricia, and a grandson - Adam Bauman in 2004.
Funeral Services with Military Tribute for Alan Bauman will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 31, 2011 from Krueger Family Funeral Home in Tomahawk. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of services at 11:00 a.m.
