Alan John Nyberg passed away on August 19th 2016 at Howard Young Medical Center after a year and a half long battle with cancer. Although it ended much too soon, he lived a full life. Al managed two local propane businesses and after retiring from that, went on to manage the lawn and garden department at Ace Hardware. "Big Al" was always known to keep busy. He managed and care took various properties, volunteered with Children's Miracle Network, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Sunday's with Al were filled with boating, mini golf, bonfires or snowmobiling depending on the season.
Al is proceeded in death by his father, John Nyberg of Tomahawk WI and brother in law, David Medina of Merrill WI. He is survived by his wife of 26 years this September, Diane Nyberg (Rayala) of Minocqua WI, daughter Jamie Nyberg (fiancé Ryan Murkowski) of Athens WI, mother Bobbie Nyberg of Tomahawk WI, sisters Sandy Nyberg (Mario Tantillo) of Atlanta GA, Joann Medina of Merrill WI, Diane (Bob) Langeberg of Tomahawk WI, brother Jim (Kelly) Nyberg of Tomahawk WI, father and mother in law Michael and Sherry Rayala of Manitowish Waters (Woodruff) WI, brother in law Michael Rayala Jr of Wausau WI and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at 1pm August 27th at Nimsgern Funeral Home in Woodruff WI and service with Reverend Erv Teichmiller at 2pm. Lunch on to follow. Per Alan's wishes this will be a casual service. Please dress comfortably.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr Gabert, Dr Thomas, Ministry Hospice and Sarah Martin RN for their love and compassion with Alan's care at the end of his life.
