Alberta “Dottie” Egtvedt, 92, of Arbor Vitae passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at the Milestone Senior Living Facility in Tomahawk, Wisconsin. She was born February 15, 1932, on the family farm in the Town of Cassian, Oneida County, WI with her oldest sister Mary serving as midwife, to the late Albert and Angeline Trybula, who were Polish immigrants.
In 1938 the Trybula family moved to the Town of Arbor Vitae in Vilas County, WI, having purchased land between Arrowhead and Brandy Lakes on Highway 51. Where they built and operated the Lakeshore Resort consisting of a restaurant, saloon, dance hall and rental cabins for many years.
Dottie lived in Arbor Vitae for 84 years. There she met the love of her life the late William “Bill” Egtvedt. During their 57 years of marriage in Arbor Vitae they raised their family, engaged in local politics and actively participated in community activities.
She is survived by her two children, Greg (Cyndi) and Cheryl, two grandchildren, Brent and Charlotte (Jon) and one great grandson, Raphael. In addition, Dottie is survived by three nephews and ten nieces.
Dottie was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Angeline Trybula, her husband Bill, all five of her older siblings and their spouses, Frank (Lillian) Trybula, Mary (Emil) Bakka, Josephine (George) Radtke, Angeline (Marsal “Pat”) Thatcher and John (Marge) Trybula and all of her brother and sisters-in-law and their spouses, Phillis (Ted) Blazkowski, Warren (Grace) Egtvedt and Audrey (John) Perkins. Cheryl’s husband Mike Hebert and one nephew and three nieces also preceded her in death.
The family would like to thank the Milestone Senior Living Facility staff for their care and understanding during Dottie’s residence there.
A private family service was held and no public service is scheduled.
