ALVIN GRANT
Alvin Dale Grant, 86, Lugerville, died in the Park Manor Nursing Home in Park Falls on Friday, December 12, 2014. He was born in Lugerville on February 6, 1928, the son of Albin and Marie (McMullen) Grant. He attended Phillips High School. He was married to his wife of 60 years, Anna Mae Tarcon, in the Congregational Church in Park Falls, Wisconsin, on October 30, 1954. He was employed by Omark Industries/Blount of Prentice for 20 years, retiring in 1990, but in addition to that had a long and interesting working career which included operating a dairy farm in Lugerville, logging, and carpentry. He served as Supervisor and Chairman of the Town of Flambeau. In his free time he was a drummer for numerous Polka Bands, enjoyed spending time with his family, and was an avid hunter, trapper, and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ana Mae; by two sons, Dale (Joyce), Phillips, and Duane “Duke” (Jean), Phillips; by five grandchildren, Nicole (Todd), Kristin (Cory), Troy, Ross, and Ashley; by 3 great grandchildren, Logan, Alisha, and Alayna; and by three sisters, Lois (William “Bill”) Miller, Texas, Betty (Ron) Knutson, Wausau, and Carol Pritzl, Park Falls. He is preceded in death by his parents, and by one sister, Donna Chizek.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, December 20, at Our Savior Episcopal Church in Lugerville, with Father William Radant officiating. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services. Inurnment will be in the Lakeside Cemetery in Phillips
