Amund Running, age 96, a resident of the town of Nokomis for most of his life, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at Golden Living- Riverview in Tomahawk.
Amund was born on March 3, 1912 in the Town of Birch to Amund and Alice (Loka) Running. He married Lillian I. Olson on June 16, 1937 at Grace Lutheran Church in Tomahawk, she passed away in 2002.
Amund was a farmer and logger in the area, he had worked in the woods into his late 70's. He loved baseball. He had helped to start the Town and Country Baseball League in late 50's. He was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church and had served on the original building committee.

2 Sons, Dennis (Donna) Running Rhinelander Richard (Carol) Running Tomahawk
Amund is further survived by 6 Grandchildren, 4 Step Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren and 6 Great Great Grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Amund Running will be held on Monday, April 14, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. from Grace Lutheran Church. Rev. Mark Ziemer will officiate. Burial will follow in the Prairie Rapids Cemetery in the town of Nokomis. Friends may call at the Krueger & Sons Funeral Home on Sunday, April 13, 2008 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at Grace Lutheran.
