Andrew "Andy" Piekarski, age 68, 27 W. Spirit Ave., Tomahawk, died unexpectedly on July 28, 2014 in Lake Tomahawk.
Andy was born June 10, 1946 in Necedah, the son of Ronald and Helen (Walanski) Piekarski. He married Lisa Zamzow on July 24, 1982 in Barron. Andy was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and served in Vietnam. He attended UW-Stevens Point, where he earned his Political Science degree. He later attended UW - Eau Claire, where he earned a degree in accounting, and passed the CPA exam on his first try. Andy and Lisa came to Tomahawk in 1989, where he coached youth baseball and served on the board for youth hockey. He worked for various accounting firms before starting his own business - Andy Piekarski CPA. Some of Andy's interests include: golfing, fishing, playing poker, and hunting. He was also a die-hard Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers fan.
Survivors include: wife, Lisa Piekarski, Tomahawk; children, Jacob Piekarski, Oshkosh, Matthew (Lacey) Piekarski, Stevens Point; siblings, Ronald (Jane Ritger) Moore, Marathon, Kaaren (James) Tatera, Madison, Indiana, Lynne (Robert) Brown, Holmen, Christine (David) Fuhs, Woodbury, Minnesota; foster brother, Eric (Lisa) Dickman, Atlanta, Georgia. Andy is further survived by thirteen nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Andy Piekarski will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 1, 2014 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk. Father John Anderson will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 31st from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Krueger Family Funeral Home in Tomahawk. Visitation will continue at the church on Friday from 10:00 AM until the hour of Mass at 11:00 AM. Burial with military rites will follow Mass at Greenwood Cemetery in Tomahawk.
