Anna Hammerstrom

Anna Marie (Tike) Hammerstrom, 84, of Flower Mound, TX and formerly of Phillips, WI passed away peacefully with her family at her side on September 3, 2022, after a lingering illness. She was born on September 8, 1937, in Prentice, WI to parents Clarence and Bertha (Ringersma) Schilling.

She spent her early life and schooling in Phillips, WI. She graduated in 1955 from Phillips High School. On August 13, 1955, she married Robert (Bob) Hammerstrom at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Phillips. For many years, while Bob managed Gambles stores in the Upper Midwest, she established loving homes in Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. In 1965, the family relocated back to Northern Wisconsin where she and Bob owned and operated the Ben Franklin stores in Park Falls and Phillips, and the Lake Street Gallery in Phillips. Tike and Bob moved to Flower Mound, TX in 2000, where she worked for several years in the fabric department at a local craft store.

She is survived by her children Laura (Tom) Hardzinski of Flower Mound, Mike (Teri) Hammerstrom of Phillips, and Rob Hammerstrom of Flower Mound. Also surviving are her sister Grace Gray of Maxwell, Nebraska, sister-in-law, Kathy Schilling of Phillips and brother-in-law, Bob Dragovich of Fifield, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Tike was also a loving grandmother to seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Bob, four infant children, her parents, brother Clarence (Clink) Schilling, sisters Nancy Dragovich and Alice Pouba.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, September 9, 2022, at Heindl-Nimsgern Funeral Home, 284 Chestnut Street, Phillips, WI 54555. A private family burial will be held graveside at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Phillips. Heindl-Nimsgern Funeral Home is assisting the family.
