Our baby sister, daughter, and aunt - Annette, at the age of 59 passed away peacefully at home April 5, 2025. Annette was born April 11, 1965, to Edward J. Poupart and Deanna Elizabeth Poupart (Allen) in Oakland, California and is the youngest of five children. Although Annette did not have any children of her own, she played a huge role in raising her nieces and nephews, Maegan & Tayiah Bauman, Kaylee, Lexi & Emma Bauman, Aubri West Calabrese, and Wade Chapman as her own. Annette has many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who she loved with all her heart.

Annette was a great athlete, she enjoyed playing sports most of her life, volleyball, basketball, golf, and softball and she loved to fish area lakes and do beadwork. She spent years helping at the Bear River Pow Wow, working at the Tribal gas station, and gardening for the community.

In 1971 our family moved to Wisconsin from California where she attended the Lac du Flambeau Elementary School. Prior to going to school in Lac du Flambeau, she attended Marshall School in Castro Valley, California. Annette went to high school in Flandreau, South Dakota attending Flandreau Indian School and graduated May 25, 1983, later she enlisted in the U.S. Army and released due to an injury sustained in boot camp. She was a big Chicago Bears fan and Harley Davidson enthusiast and valued Classic Rock.

Annette's family includes her mother, Deanna Poupart (Allen), sisters Natalie, Nadine, and Roxane Poupart, and one brother, Edward T. Poupart. Nieces (BriAnne Poupart, Katlyn Bauman, Penny Chapman, Shawnee Chapman, Georgia & Eddy Uhl, Roxane Salazar, Bravery Fricke-Bauman, Leona & EzMae Poupart, Ayliah Poupart, Malia, Mariam & Amelia Thoms, Janae Johnson, Hazelynn Chapman, Girdee Mustache, Hailey Bauman, Sharon Bauman, Braelyn St. Germaine, Natalie Lyons, Lania Meshigaud, ). Nephews (Aaron & Devin Wolfe, Cale & Pery Chapman, Trent & Austin Poupart, Jeffery, Jr., Jeffery III & Julius Bauman, Kently Zimmerman, Edward, Jr., John, & Gage Poupart, Bruce & Alden Bauman, Taitum Bauman, Talon Poupart, Memphis Poupart, Connor, Noah & Curtis Wolfe, Roland & Zane LaBarge, Milan & Anthony Thoms, John, Jr., & Jonah Johnson, Wade Chapman, Jr., Bruce III & Jordan Bauman, Edward, Alden, Jr., Darryl, & Ryan Bauman, Avery Lyons, Mason, Blake, Taylor & Ozzy Wolfe, Leland Chapman, Devin Wolfe, Jr., Cale, Jr., Blaine, & Saphyre Chapman, Pery, Jr & Kaysen Chapman). Special friends, Gayle Allen, Debbie Chapman, Michelle LaRock, and Juanita Thompson.

Annette is preceded in death by her father, Edward J. Poupart, grandmothers Dorothy Bluejacket Poupart and Elizabeth “Betty” Snow, grandfathers Ross Allen, Sr., and Joe Doud along with aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Annette lived her life according to her terms, her strength, courage, and bravery showed over the past 1.5 years, she will be missed very much.

Visitation for Annette will be held on Tuesday, April 8th at the Multi-Purpose Building starting at 4:00 pm and a Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 9th at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church.
