Anthony B. True

Anthony “Tony” B. True, 83, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 20, 2021, at his home in Minocqua. He was born in Milwaukee, the son of Deane and Harriet True. Tony is the beloved husband of Marilyn, spending 46 memorable years together. He is the dear father of Deane (Cherie), Jerry, and Tad (Karen); cherished grandfather of Jordan, Andre, Rachel, and Megan; the revered uncle of Rob and Duncan (Michelle). Tony was preceded in death by his parent, Sunnie (sister), and sons, Mark, and Michael. After graduating from Shorewood High School, Tony attended G.M. Institute for two years. For the majority of his life, he worked in the automotive industry. Tony’s spare time was filled with his passion, a love for restoring cars and trucks, especially the older models, ‘50s, ‘60s, and ‘70s, bringing them back to their original beauty. When visiting Deane a few years ago, Tony checked off another item on his bucket list when he went to the NASCAR Museum and Charlotte Speedway and even took a spin around the track. Back when Tony owned the Lake Tomahawk Minimart, he always enjoyed a good chat with those who stopped by. There are treasured memories from years past, growing up with summers in Maine, taking his boys fishing and for rides on the “Polish Yacht,” along with spending time with family and nephews at their farm. His positive outlook on life and sense of humor could always bring a smile to your face. He had a million stories to share, which ended with his infectious chuckle! We will never forget that Tony was a lifelong Packer fan and loved telling the story of when he was in the stands for the “ICE BOWL” back in ’67! What a guy! Tony was one of a kind, friendly, someone you could count on, and honest. His word and a handshake were good enough. Most importantly, he was a real gentleman, especially to Marilyn. Over the years, Tony was fond of doing amazing puzzles with a thousand pieces. But now that he is in heaven, it is like he is a special piece of our own puzzle that is missing. Tony’s warm, easy-going nature, plus “Wit and Wisdom” will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and his loyal dog.
I am not truly gone if you keep me in your heart. I’ll forever be alive, and we’ll never have to part.
Upon Tony’s wishes cremation took place and there will be no services.
