Anthony "Tony" Denison, age 51, of Tomahawk, passed away on November 12, 2015 at St. Clare's Hospital in Weston, where he lost his battle with colon cancer. Cancer may have taken his body, but it did not take his sense of humor, which he kept right up to the very end.
Tony was born on April 24,1964 in Milwaukee, WI
To Edward Denison, Jr. & Monica "Micky" Fedder.
His family moved to Tomahawk in 1978, where they owned & operated Mr. Ed's Corral. Tony attended Tomahawk High School where he played on the Hatchet Basketball Team, and where he received the nickname "C-Clamp." He was known for his funny sense of humor, & his reputation as a prankster. Even though he only attended 4 yrs of school in Tomahawk, he made friends quickly, & always traveled in a pack with his group of what turned out to be life-long friends.
Tony joined the Marine Corps as soon as he turned 18. He proudly served his 4 year tour that took him to places as far away as the Philippines, and then served 2 more years in the Reserves, before attending College in Superior, WI.
Tony moved back to Milwaukee, WI after he left Superior, he just really missed the city life. There he worked many years as a Professional Mover for a Moving Company in downtown Milwaukee, while living on the lively Eastside of Milwaukee, known as the Art district. He loved art & was an amazing artist. Unfortunately, living there he met so many really great artists, he never believed he was talented enough to pursue art as more than hobby, his work was much better than he gave himself credit for.
Realizing his back wasn't getting any younger, & the boxes were getting any lighter, he then got a job working with his sister Jodie at Iron Mountain Records Management. He worked there for several years, saving money to move back to Tomahawk so he could be closer to his aging parents, where he could help out & eventually retire.
After decades away, he bought a house in Tomahawk, & got a job as a maintenance man at Nelson's Grocery Store where he has worked ever since He loved football, and was always cheering on the Green Bay Packers. Tony had many talents; besides his love of art & painting, he also had a special love for his garden. He took great pride in his flowers, and was often seen tending to, and nurturing them. When he wasn't working, or spending time in his garden, you could find him at his parents house. He took good care of his Mother during the last year's of her life, they had an especially close relationship, him being her first born child.
