A local legend, Angel (Antonette) Olivera (Haw), 64, of Arbor Vitae, WI passed away Friday June 21, 2024, at her home. She went the way she hoped to with her family and dogs Bosc and Tasha. Angel was born January 14, 1960, in Manitowoc, WI to the late Freeman and Ruth (Walden) Haw.
Angel grew up on a humble farm in Valders, WI. At the age of 11 she moved to the city limits of Manitowoc. Angel graduated from Lincoln High School in 1978. December 28, 1987, she married her spouse Lenny and they moved to the Minocqua area in 1988.
Angel leaves behind a family that she is extremely proud of. Survivors include her spouse Lenny Olivera, of Arbor Vitae, WI; Melanie Olivera, Reedsville, WI; Brad (Shauna) Olivera, of Two Rivers, WI; Nicole (Andy) Hennes, of Farmington, MN; Shauna (Dan) Carpenter, Lake Tomahawk, WI. Angel’s pride and joy was her grandchildren, she leaves behind Derek Felber JR, Devan Felber, Tristin Olivera, Braedon Olivera, Caden Hennes, Kenyon Carpenter, Addisyn Olivera, Collin Hennes, Casimer Carpenter, and Kendall Hennes. Siblings include Cindy (Larry) Frank of Manitowoc, WI; Danny (Beth) Haw of Union City, TN and Minnie Desotelle of Wausau, WI. Angel had a close bond with nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews and was often classified as the crazy, cool Aunt.
Angel worked tirelessly as the Director of a CBRF in Minocqua for many years. While caring for residents, their families, and staff. Angel loved her job and would put her residents before all else. It was common for her to sit with the residents at all hours of the day if they needed it. Angel reminisced about her residents often.
Angel was compassionate and had a big heart. Over the years, she opened her home to those in need and helped others in any way that she could.
Angel is proceeded in death by her parents Freeman and Ruth Haw, her brother Walden Haw, her sister Phyllis Leschke, and her daughter Andrea Haw.
A celebration of life will be held at Nimsgern Funeral Home in Woodruff, WI on Friday, June 28, 2024, from 1pm to 4 pm.
The family would like to give thanks to the doctors, nurses, and aides at Compassus Hospice, and all the staff at DaVita Dialysis and Aspirus HYMC. You all treated her with such dignity and respect and made her feel comforted by your knowledge and care.
