Arthur 'Mouse' Koskela, age 98, a long-time Tripoli resident, died Sunday, May 11, 2014 at Golden Living Center - Riverview in Tomahawk. Art was born January 11, 1916 in Tripoli, the son of John and Hanna (Bjorkbakka) Koskela. He married Violet Cherny on March 29, 1937 in Prentice; she died October 31, 1987. Art was a logger, and worked for the Gustafsons until retiring at the age of 62. He enjoyed trapping, fishing, and hunting.
Survivors include: children, Art (Joanne) Koskela, Jr., Wisconsin Rapids, Margie (Fritz) Jach (formerly Eskola), Tomahawk, Marion (Harry) Welke (formerly Selmer), Tomahawk, sister-in-law, Miriam Koskela, Arizona; grandchildren, Richard (Lynn) Eskola, Robert (Lorna) Eskola, Lawrence (Dawn) Eskola, Suzanne Eskola, Roger Selmer, Terry (Jodi) Selmer, Dan (Cindy) Selmer, Alan (Athena) Koskela, Amy (Mike) Arndt, Jodi (Cain) Barry. Art is further survived by two nieces and one nephew, seventeen great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother, William.
