August Macholl

August Don Macholl, 51, of Catawba, WI, passed away on Thursday February 2, 2023, at his home. He was born on November 21, 1971, in Park Falls, WI, to August and Viola (Hinsa) Macholl.  

He grew up on the family farm and graduated from Phillips High School in 1989. He worked as a logger, on road construction for 32 years, and raised beef. 

August enjoyed all outdoor sports and if it had a gas engine, he rode it, broke it, and fixed it. He loved his family, especially his nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. 

He is survived by two brothers, Daniel (Anna) Macholl and Michael (Mary) Macholl, all of Catawba, WI; three sisters, Darlene Froeming of Kennan, WI, Diane Tead of Arbor Vitae, WI, and Colleen Nelson of Osceola, WI; 18 nieces and nephews; and 21 great-nieces and nephews.  

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Brian Macholl; and brothers-in-law, David Froeming, Edward Tead, and Jack Dalum. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, W9485 State Highway 8, Catawba, WI 54515, with Father Lourdu officiating. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. and continue until the time of the mass at the church. An inurnment will be at the Catawba Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Heindl-Nimsgern Funeral Home is assisting the family.
