Barbara Lukasavitz

Barbara Ann (Herrgott) Lukasavitz, age 83 of Woodruff, WI died on Saturday, March 6th at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg, WI. Barb was born in Milwaukee, Wi on January 26th, 1938 the daughter of Jerome and Edith (nee Staffaroni). She lived with her parents at Hickam Air Base in Hawaii from 1945 to 1949. Barb graduated from Washington High School in Milwaukee in 1955.
She married Calvin Lukasavitz on July 13, 1957. Barb was a mom and homemaker all of her life. She was a wonderful cook and baker, she sewed and enjoyed different crafts over the years. She volunteered at their Milwaukee church and school, Church of the Holy Spirit and was a leader in the Christian Women’s Organization. She worked in the office of Globe Glass for 10+ years and retired with Cal to Woodruff in 1993. Barb loved their home on Johnson Lake, watching wildlife and birds. She was an active member of Holy Family parish, belonging to the Circle of Women and the Lady Knights. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. Barb was a lifelong crossword puzzler and an avid sports fan; she especially loved watching all of the Wisconsin teams.
She is survived by children Patricia Nellen, Craig (Vicki) Lukasavitz and Lynne (John) Gardner. Grandsons Ryan (Liz Griffin) Nellen, Cal (Courtney) Lukasavitz and Jimmy (Brianne Meehl) Lukasavitz. Great grandchildren Kelly and Ethan Lukasavitz. Also survived by other family and friends.
Barb was preceded in death last week by her husband of 63 years, Cal Lukasavitz. Also her parents, many uncles, aunts and cousins.
Memorial Mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church on Saturday, May 22nd at 11:00 am followed by burial at St. Patrick’s Cemetery and then a reception at Nimsgern Funeral Home Fellowship Hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Holy Family Catholic Church, 8950 Hwy J, Woodruff, WI 54568.
Barb’s family would like to thank Howard Young Medical Center, Minocqua Health and Rehab, Marshfield Medical Center Weston and Agrace Hospice for their care in recent weeks. Also a thank you to the staff at Milestone Woodruff for their caring friendship in the last four years.
