Beatrice "Bede" Thompson, age 91, 720 E. Kings Road, Tomahawk, passed away October 22, 2007 at Golden Living Center - Golden Age in Tomahawk. Bede was born August 2, 1916 in Howard City, Michigan to William and Christine Heminger. She married Emil Thompson on May 8, 1926 in Tomahawk; he passed away in 1984. Bede was formerly employed with Box Plant in Tomahawk, Gamble's Store in Tomahawk for 17 years, and Sacred Heart Hospital for 25 years. Bede was a charter member of the Tomahawk Civic Club and a member of the Tomahawk Garden Club. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Tomahawk, where she taught Luther League. She loved her flowers and enjoyed rose mauling. Survivors include: Daughter Nancy (Carl) Bartz of Tomahawk Sister Evelyn Anderson of Nampa, Idaho Bede is further survived by 5 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 sister, and 1 son. Funeral Services for Bede Thompson will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 from Grace Lutheran Church in Tomahawk. Rev. Mark Ziemer will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of services at 2:00 p.m. Bede touched many hearts in the Tomahawk area.
