Beatrice Voermans, age 88, life-long resident of the Town of Harrison, passed away Monday, February 22, 2010 at Alice Haus in Rhinelander. Bea was born May 15, 1921 in Chicago, the daughter of Jacob and Mary (Rinkle)Schuit. She married Peter J. Voermans on February 22, 1941 in Chicago; he passed away August 20, 2005. Bea worked most of her life on the family farm with her husband. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and a former member of the Altar Society in Harrison. She was also a member of the Homemakers' Club and 4-H. Bea enjoyed fishing, gardening, 4wheeling on the farm, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include: Son John (Beverly) Voermans Harrison 2 daughters Patricia Voermans Madison Kathleen (Chuck) Maderer Chicago Sister Sister Catherine Mary Schuit Campbellsport Bea is further survived by 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband - Peter, 2 brothers - Nick and Jacob Schuit, and 3 sisters - Cornelia Gfellers, Lena Schoudel, and Betty Haring. A Mass of Christian Burial for Beatrice Voermans will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2010 from St. Augustine Catholic Church in Harrison. Fr. Ron Serrao will officiate. The family will receive friends at Krueger Family Funeral Home on Friday, February 26, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., with a Vigil Service to begin at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow Mass in the church cemetery.
