Bernadine "Berny" Huberty, age 81, of Tomahawk, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2013 at Golden Living - Golden Age Nursing Home.
Berny was born on June 5, 1931 in Tomahawk to Alvin & Mary (Cockeran) Allord. She was married to Barton Huberty in 1958; he passed away in 1993. Berny was an elementary school teacher. She taught in Madison and in Tomahawk at the Mitchell School, the Bradley School and at the Washington School. She also served as the school librarian before retiring in 1981. Berny spent 15 years living in Montana before returning home to Tomahawk. Berny enjoyed performing with the Tomahawk Community Theater, reading, traveling and kids. She loved all things outdoors especially hiking and snowshoeing.
Survivors include: 4 Grandchildren: Susan Tiffany of Tomahawk Annette (Juan) Roman of Merrill Tina (Mark) Leonard of West Bend Roger (Laurie) Tiffany of Mosinee Step Daughter: Sharon Mackey of Salem, Missouri Brother: James Allord of California
She is further survived by 10 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends.
Berny is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Barton, step-daughter, Donna Tiffany and 8 siblings.
The Funeral Service for Bernadine "Berny" Huberty will take place on Monday, January 21, 2013 at Krueger Family Funeral Home at 11:00AM. Pastor Larry Mathein to officiate. Visitation will take place from 9:00AM until the time of service at 11:00AM. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in the spring.
