Bernice L. Jones, age 93, 720 E. Kings Rd., Tomahawk, passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at Golden Living Center - Golden Age in Tomahawk.
Bernice was born February 6, 1917 in Malta, Montana, the daughter of Albert and Ethel (Jones) Bruns. She married Edward Jones on December 4, 1937 in Tripoli; he passed away in October 1982. Bernice formerly worked as a cook at Dog n Suds, The Alamo, and Tomahawk Lodge. She and Ed always had a big garden, and enjoyed canning together. Whenever Bernice had visitors, she insisted on making them something to eat, and was known for her popcorn balls. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Tomahawk. Bernice was a wonderful neighbor and friend, and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Bernice is further survived by 10 great grandchildren, 15 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 brothers - Melvin, Vernon, Harold, and Myron, 1 sister - Doris Yaeger, 3 children - Robert Jones, Pat Morris, and Phyllis Jones, and 1 great grandson - Phillip Williams.
Funeral Services for Bernice Jones will be held at 1:00 p.m. on October 22, 2010 from St. Paul Lutheran Church in Tomahawk. Rev. Mark Schoenherr will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Tomahawk. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bernice's name are appreciated to the Tomahawk Food Pantry.
