Betty M. Kelly, 93, Minocqua Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Friday, October 26, 2018. Betty was born on June 8, 1925 to Joseph and Adele Baer in Madison, Wisconsin. Betty is preceded in death by her husband Joseph, J. Kelly and grandson Mike Kelly. She is survived by Mary Jo “Jodi” (Mark) Mattke of Arbor Vitae, WI; Ann (Kirk) Miller of Minocqua, WI; Mike (Carolyn) Kelly of North Hampton, NH; Pat (Darcy) Kelly of Pleasant Springs, WI; and Joseph (Carol) Kelly Jr. of Minnetonka, MN. Betty enjoyed her childhood of growing up in Madison, including many sports. Her favorite sports were swimming, diving, speed skating, and softball. She even designed a logo for the Gateway Speed Skating Club in Saint Louis, MO. Betty’s fondness of her hometown continued as she always made time to cheer on the Wisconsin Badgers. Betty’s love of decorating and fashion started in her college days and continued to the “Back Room” at Joe Kelly’s Landing, the restaurant Betty and her husband Joe ran from 1976-1989 in Woodruff, WI. Joe and Betty traveled together, including a memorable trip to Ireland. Betty could best be described as a spirited lady who had a positive attitude and a determination to live life to the fullest. Later in life, Betty found joy in raising and training her beloved golden retriever, Baer. She took pride in having her family gather together to enjoy delicious meals, play games, and tell stories but most importantly laugh together. Betty taught us all to be grateful for what we have, be proud of where we come from, and enjoy each moment we have.
