Brian D. Schlag, age 52, of W6173 Frontage Road, Tomahawk, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Brian was born on July 5, 1961 in Merrill to Roger and Joann (Rusch) Schlag. He was married to Mary M. Buese on June 21, 1993 in Tomahawk. Brian loved the adventures of the open road which led him to be an over the road trucker for most of his life. Brian was also a history buff; he loved fishing, and was a true farm-boy at heart. He also loved to take his rifle for a walk every November, he was the camp cook, and enjoyed playing cards. Brian was a happy-go-lucky guy who left everyone he met with a smile.
Survivors include: wife, Mary Schlag, Tomahawk; mother, Joann Schlag, Merrill; step children, Jeremy Wyles, Tripoli, Jennifer (Monty) Roberts, Charlottesville, Virginia; sisters, Linda (Terry) Siedler, Merrill, Beth (Kevin) Krueger, Merrill. Brian is further survived by three nieces and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his dad, Roger.
Funeral Services for Brian Schlag will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. from the Krueger Family Funeral Home. Pastor Larry Mathein will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday afternoon from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services at 6:00 p.m.
On Saturday, April 12, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. there will be another celebration of Brian's life at Schult's Country Inn, W5931 Church Ave., in Merrill. Bring your best stories.
