Carl Kangas, age 77, Tomahawk, died suddenly on November 11, 2014 at Ministry Sacred Heart Hospital E.R. in Tomahawk.
Carl was born January 19, 1937 in Brantwood, the son of John and Hilja (Aho) Kangas. He married Pauline Crowell on May 8, 1959 in Tomahawk; she passed away on March 23, 2012. Carl worked as a heavy equipment supervisor, initially for S. J. Groves and Sons and later for Atkins Construction. He retired in 1998. He enjoyed fishing and tinkering. He was a U.S. Army veteran, and served in the Korean War.
Survivors include: children, Carrie Jacobs, of Fishers, Indiana, Russell Kangas, of Austell, Georgia. Carl is further survived by four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife - Pauline, six brothers, and one sister.
Funeral services for Carl Kangas will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at the Krueger Family Funeral Home in Tomahawk. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the hour of service at 12:00 Noon. Burial with Military Rites will be at Spirit Hillcrest Cemetery in the Town of Spirit.
