CAROL JAYNE HERHOLD
Carol J. Herhold, 70, Town of Worcester, died on Friday, July 31, at the Aspirus Wausau Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
She was born on February 24, 1945, in Marshfield, the daughter of Herbert and Rose (Schuerman) Wipfli. She spent her early life and schooling in Marshfield. She attended Columbus Grade School and Columbus High School, Marshfield graduating with the Class of 1963. She furthered her education by attending St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Madison where she graduated in 1966.
She was married to William F. “Bill” Herhold on September 9, 1967. They celebrated over 47 years of marriage. She was employed as a surgical nurse in the Chicago suburbs for many years before becoming the Nursing Manager for Northwest Surgical. She was instrumental in the formation and concept of outpatient services.
Following her retirement in 2007 she and her husband Bill spent time traveling the world. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, was an avid reader, a bocce ball player, golfing, and boating. They enjoyed spending time together in their homes in Wisconsin and Florida.
She is survived by her husband William F. “Bill” Town of Worcester, by 1 daughter Jenna Herhold, Chicago, Ill., and by 1 son William A. (Dana) Herhold, Mosinee, Wi.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and by 1 brother Ron Wipfli.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, August 3, 2015, at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church, Phillips, with Deacon James Celba officiating. Friends may call from 12:00 Noon on Monday at the church until the time of the service.
