Carol M. Tauchen

Carol M. Tauchen, age 76 of Woodruff, WI passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday July 19, 2014. Carol was born on June 27, 1938 in Wausau, WI to Henry and Lena (Falk) Frickenstein who preceded her in death in 1967. Carol married Harold Tauchen on October 16, 1971 who also preceded her in death in 2012. Carol is survived by their three loving children: Carla Hewitt of Eau Claire, WI; Dale (Melissa) Tauchen of Clinton Township, MI; Mark Tauchen of Woodruff, WI; along with grandson Eric Hewitt of Winona, MN. Carol is further survived by one sister Lois (Robert) Kamrath of Mesa, AZ; sister-in-law Margaret Seubert of Marshfield, WI along with four neices and three nephews. Carol earned a Bachelors degree from Lakeland College in Sheboygan, WI. She was employed as a teacher and librarian in southeast Wisconsin as well as the Minocqua/Woodruff area in which she spent most of her adult life. She also worked at the Island Cafe in Minocqua for a number of years. Carol was an active member of Community United Church of Christ in Saint Germain for many years. Carol loved fishing, playing cards and was an avid reader. She will be missed by her family, many friends and her cats Socks and Taffy. in Woodruff, WI.
