Carol J. Marcott, age 70, of 124 E. Wisconsin Ave., Tomahawk, passed away Monday, July 23, 2007 at her home. She was born October 29, 1936 in Milwaukee to the late William and Doris Thumstedter. She was later married to Donald E. Marcott on September 23, 1967 in Rothschild, WI; he survives. Carol was born and raised in the Milwaukee area. She later moved to Sugar Camp, WI, and then to Wausau. She and her family moved to Tomahawk in 1976. She was previously employed as Director of the Tomahawk Chamber of Commerce, then as the Director of Our Way Group Home, and most recently, she was employed at Cover to Cover Book Store in Tomahawk. She was the former President of the Tomahawk Civic Club, and was the former Treasurer for the Town of King. She enjoyed reading, painting, writing, camping, and talking with friends and family. She is most fondly remembered and loved for her selfless devotion to friends and family. Survivors include her Husband, Don Marcott of Tomahawk, 2 Sons, Michael Marcott of Tomahawk, and Edward (Lisa) Marcott of Wausau, 3 Daughters, Laura Theiler of Tomahawk, Linda (Jann) Koenig of Tomahawk, and Kathryn Dipalma of Wausau, a Foster Daughter, Raana Steifel of California, 2 Brothers, David (Dixie) Thumstedter of Mosinee, and Jeffrey (Carole) Thumstedter of White Bear Lake, MN, 1 Sister, Mary (Dale) Cywinski of Mosinee. Carol is further survived by 4 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Grandson. She was preceded in death by her Parents, and 1 Grandson, Ian Koenig. A Memorial Service for Carol Marcott will be held at 1:00 Monday at the Krueger and Sons Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mark Gass officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday morning from 11:00 until the hour of services at 1:00 pm. Memorials have been requested to the Redeemer Lutheran Church or Ministries Hospice Care.
