Carole Jean Morrison, age 63, of Minocqua, WI died on Thursday, December 18th at home. Carole was born on September 11, 1951 in Bethlehem, PA the daughter of Henry and Jean (nee Kuster) von Blohn. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Education degree, and received her MS in Education degree from UW-Superior. Carole married Kenneth A. Morrison on December 28, 1971. Carole taught at Arbor Vitae-Woodruff Grade School for 34 years.
Carole loved being in the outdoors – hiking, backpacking, canoeing and cross country skiing. She enjoyed cooking and quilting; she was an indefatigable shopper and she adored animals indiscriminately– wild, pets, or stuffed. She embraced and lived her Buddhist practice, and was a core member of the Hollow Bones and Wind & Water Zen sanghas. Carole’s cheerful personality, generosity and big heart will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Ken, of Minocqua, WI and two sons, Brian Morrison of Chicago, IL and James Morrison of Denver, CO, and is further survived by her parents Henry and Jean von Blohn of Johnstown, PA and her brother Kim von Blohn of San Francisco, CA.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 27th at 2 pm at the Northwoods Universalist Unitarian Fellowship in Woodruff.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a cancer support group (Hope Lodge, 611 W.
