Carolyn Sickels, age 80, N11445 Cty. Rd. A, #13A, Tomahawk, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at her residence under the care of Ministry Home Hospice.
Carolyn was born November 22, 1934 in Garden Valley, Wisconsin, the daughter of William and Regina (Strobel) Fink. She married Gene Sickels on December 16, 1972 in Brookfield. Carolyn worked for 24 years in the accounting department for Continental Can in Milwaukee, retiring in 1990. She and Gene came to Tomahawk in 1982, and moved there permanently in 1995. Carolyn enjoyed working in her flower gardens, making stained glass, and had a special affection for her cats. She also enjoyed traveling, and had visited all 50 states. Carolyn was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and was a volunteer with the Tomahawk Salvation Army, the Tomahawk Emergency Food Pantry, and Fishing Unlimited. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Tomahawk.
Survivors include: Husband, Gene Sickels, of Tomahawk; children, Frank Schaaf, of Mesa, Arizona, Teri Sickels, of Janesville, Jean Sickels, of Janesville, Gary (Karen) Sickels, of Jefferson. Carolyn is further survived by six grandchildren - Jason, Robyn, Jennifer, Justin, Haylee, and Chad, and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and one sister.
A Celebration of Life for Carolyn Sickels will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at the United Methodist Church in Tomahawk. Rev. Debra Hastings will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the hour of services at 12:00 Noon.
