Catherine M. Potter

April 17, 1949 — April 24, 2020

Catherine M. “Cathy” Potter, age 71 of Boulder Junction, WI died on Friday, April 24th at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, WI after a short battle with cancer.

Cathy was born on April 17, 1949 in Stambaugh, MI daughter of Lloyd P. and Claoma C. (nee Egan) Johnson. She attended South Division High School in Milwaukee, WI where she graduated in 1967. She raised her two children, Michelle and Matthew, in Milwaukee where she worked for 22 years as a dental assistant and later as administrative secretary at Marquette University Dental School.

She married David Potter on June 30, 2001 and they moved from Milwaukee to Lake Nokomis in Tomahawk in 2001. Together they owned a dental lab for seven years before retiring the business and moving to Boulder Junction.

Her life passion was cooking every type of cuisine there is, baking desserts and breads, and growing vegetables and herbs. She loved to host dinners to share her cooking with family and friends, while aspiring to feed the world. Her passion led her to teach cooking classes through Nicolet College Continuing Education in Minocqua and Boulder Junction, and as a professional bakery chef for a Boulder Junction establishment. Cathy always found the good in everyone she met, and was an avid reader and artist.

She is survived by her husband, David Potter, son Matthew Rosinski, and by many close cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Leland Johnson, and daughter Michelle Rosinski.

Her family will hold private celebration of her life this summer. Online condolences may be shared at www.nimsgernfuneral.com
