Catherine Ora Kelly, 62, Phillips, died at her home on Wednesday, April 26, 2017. She was born in LaGrande, Oregon, on June 25, 1954, the daughter of John and Mary (Eckley) Wilson. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Art in Oregon, and later earned her Bachelor of Science Degree at Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana. She was married to John “Jack” Kelly in Las Vegas, Nevada, on August 2, 1997. She was employed as Vocational Director by Bethphage Corporation at facilities for developmentally disabled adults and mentally handicapped adults. She was a supporter of the Humane Society, the ASPCA, and the Nature Conservancy. In her free time she enjoyed painting, crafting, and the arts, watching birds, and the company of her dogs.
She is survived by her husband John “Jack”; by two daughters, Janie (Wayne) Boho, Phillips, and Jennifer (Peter) Williams, Phillips; by six grandchildren, Cory, Desiree, Delaney, Cortney, Andrew, and Alex; by two great grandchildren, Cadence and Ayden; by one brother, Dallas Wilson, Baker City, OR; and by four sisters, Ervena Hoffman, Baker City, OR, LaNette (Bob) Theroux, The Dalles, OR, Shirley Taylor, Baker City, OR, and Sharron (Boyd) Ables, Glennallen, AK. She is preceded in death by one son, Donnie Dean Emerick; by one sister, Carolyn Roberts; and by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 4, at the Heindl Funeral Home in Phillips with Father Gerald Hagen officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services.
