Charlene "Chy" Ann Karau

Charlene “Chy” A. Karau, nee Bletsoe, was born on August 9, 1941, in Prescott, WI. She passed away suddenly at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau, WI on December 12, 2017.

Chy Attended the UW Stevens Point where she met her dear Elmer. They were married on November 22, 1962 during deer hunting season, much to the chagrin of the deer hunters in the family. Elmer proceeded her in death on October 2, 1981.

Nearing her golden years Chy decided to purchase The Red Steer where she would greet you with a warm smile. Along the way she made hundreds of friends and quickly saw her business grow.

Perhaps Chy’s most crowning love was the love of her four children and seven grandchildren. When she was not adoring her grandchildren she was sure to tell you about her two dogs and most recently a new kitty.

Chy was an avid golfer and Packer fan. Her kindness and love of life endeared her to have so many wonderful friends. She will be missed tremendously by those in her life, and her memory will be in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Chy is survived by her daughters, Jody Wipperfurth (Brad); Wendy Ferrer (Robert); Jamie LaBrasca (Steve); and son Thomas (Courtney) Karau.
Grandchildren; Brooke and Brandon Wipperfurth, Jordan, Jacob and Olivia Ferrer. Grant and Brett LaBrasca.

A memorial service was held in Minocqua on December 16, 2017.
