Charlene "Char" Olson, 78, of N11445 County Road A, Tomahawk, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Country Terrace Assisted Living in Tomahawk under the care of Ministry Home Care and Hospice. Char was born on May 23, 1936 in Stanley, Wisconsin to the late Charles and Susan (Spaeth) Cooney. She was united in marriage to Donald M. Olson on November 5, 1955 also in Stanley, Wisconsin. Don passed away in 1999. Char was a homemaker throughout her life, she was an excellent cook, enjoyed traveling, fishing on Lake Superior, and enjoyed following all Wisconsin sports teams. She also was a member of several card and social clubs. Survivors include: Children, Susan (Tim) Steivang Sparta, Wisconsin Michael (Colleen) Olson South Strafford, Vermont Jeffrey (Kay) Olson Tomahawk Cindy Olson Green Bay, WI 2 Brothers, Jervis Cooney Franklin, WI Merton (Betty) Cooney Appleton, WI 2 Sisters, Violet Janisewski Oconomowoc, WI Roseanne (Stanley) Michalewicz Wausau, WI Char is further survived by 7 grandchildren, Sarah (Adam) Rolstad, Denver, Kate (Matt) Cheney, Cambridge, MA, Eric Olson, Iceland, Celia Olson, Charlotte, NC, Jenna Steivang, Melrose, WI, Elliot (Alysha) Olson, Milwaukee, Seth Steivang of Minneapolis, and 1 Great Grandchild, Nolan Rolstad and baby boy Cheney due to arrive in November. A Memorial Mass for Char Olson will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 12:00 Noon, from St. Mary Catholic Church. Fr. Edward F. Powell will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday morning from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at noon. Memorials are appreciated to the Tomahawk Public Library or Ministry Home Care and Hospice. The Olson Family would like to thank both, Country Terrace Assisted Living and Ministry Home Care and Hospice for their help and care over the past weeks.
