Charles Eli Schwartz, 89, Phillips, died in the Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield on Thursday, November 14, 2019. He was born in Waukesha, Wisconsin, on August 9, 1930, the son of Ezra and Viola (Welter) Schwartz. He served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was employed by HUSCO Manufacturing Company in Waukesha for many years, and later in life moved “Up North” to the Tomahawk area and while there was employed by the Marplex Pallet Company in Rhinelander as a Supervisor. He was married to Gladys Doman in 1953, and she preceded him in death in November of 1989. He was married to Evelyn Skomaroske Henningfeld in Phillips on March 14, 1992. Following his marriage to Evelyn he made his home in Phillips. In his free time he enjoyed woodworking, working Sudoku puzzles, bowling, and golf.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; by four children, Tracy (Jen) Schwartz, Appleton, Trent (Toni) Schwartz, West Bend, WI, Mike (Diane) Henningfeld, Tomahawk, and Pete (Trish) Henningfeld, Silver City, NM; by seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; and by three sisters, Marge Greb, Oconomowoc, WI, Rita Howward, Waukesha, and Joann (Ralph) Krug, Houghton, MI. He is preceded in death by two sisters, Viola and Eleanor; and by three brothers, Fritz, Richard, and Bob.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, November 18, at the Heindl Funeral Home in Phillips with Father Lourdu Raju Madanu officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the Lane Kreiling American Legion Post No. 122 and the Frank and Michael Baran VFW Post No. 5778. Inurnment will be in the Saint Patrick Cemetery in Phillips. Friends may call at the funeral Home in Monday, November 18, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers an offering be made in Chuck’s memory to Flambeau Home Health and Hospice.
