Cheryl J. Whitaker, 74, of Spirit Haven Road, Tomahawk, passed away at Milestone Senior Living in Tomahawk surrounded by her family.
Cheryl was born February 19, 1949 in Tomahawk to Hugh and Anita (Naschke) Gaedtke. She was united in marriage on February 19, 1988 in Tomahawk to Neil Whitaker.
Cheryl had worked for 29 years at Harley Davidson in Tomahawk and retired in 2008. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, camping, bonfires, and riding bike with Neil. Cheryl also enjoyed traveling and was known to enjoy picking up trash on the roadside. She was a truly kind person and was a member of the Berean Baptist Church in Tomahawk.
Survived by her husband Neil and her children; Karen (Rob) Byxbe, Baraboo; Wendy (Brian) Flynn, Tomahawk; Daniel (Lynda) Whitaker, Eau Claire; Corie (Gary) Baacke, Tomahawk; Jonelle (Wes) Bushor, Tomahawk; Jared (Beth) Feind, Minocqua; and Tammy (Don) Hupf of Gleason. She is also survived by her siblings, Gary (Jackie) Gaedtke, Scott (Debbie) Gaedtke, Christine Christi, and brother in law, Gary Hilt. There are also 13 grandchildren who survive. Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Terry Hilt, and an infant brother.
The funeral service for Cheryl Whitaker will be held on Thursday, January 18, at 11: 00 a.m. at the Krueger Nimsgern Funeral Home. Pastor Charles Scheele will officiate. Burial will be in Prairie Rapids Cemetery in the spring. The family will receive friends at the Krueger Nimsgern Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 4 until 7 p.m. and again on Thursday morning from 10 am until the time of services at 11.
