Clarence "Stoze" Miklas, age 76, W5994 Greenwood Rd., Tomahawk, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2008 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Stoze was born March 22, 1932 in Cudahy, the son of Frank and Mary Miklas. He moved from Cudahy to Merrill in 1943. Stoze was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving from 1953 - 1955. He married Janice Hinz on October 25, 1958 in Merrill. He was formerly employed with the City of Merrill for 22 years. He moved to Tomahawk in 1977 and did some logging from 1977 - 1982. He owned and operated the Liquor Shack & Cheese Shoppe until his retirement in 1997. He enjoyed fishing and cooking. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Tomahawk.

Stoze is further survived by a half-brother - Peter Stoesser III, 2 half-sisters - Rosemary and Patricia, 5 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and step-parents.
Funeral Services for Clarence "Stoze" Miklas will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2008 from St. Paul Lutheran Church in Tomahawk. Rev. Mark Schoenherr will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 3rd at Krueger & Sons Funeral Home from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m., with a Military Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Tomahawk.
