Clyde E. Scott (Scotty), age 81, of Land O' Lakes (Minocqua), WI passed away peacefully on August 13, 2021, with family by his side. Clyde was born in Springfield, IL, attended Springfield High School, and received his degree from DeVry University in Chicago, IL. After receiving his degree, Clyde worked as a civilian for the Military building components for radar sites all over the United States which eventually lead him to the love of his life, Betty whom he met in South Dakota (1962). The two were married later that year and welcomed their first daughter, Anna; 9 months and 4 days later. Eventually the family of 3 relocated to Wisconsin where Clyde worked as an Electrical Engineer at NCR for 32 years and they welcomed their second daughter, Mary and son, David. After retiring, they finally relocated to Northern Wisconsin and became "snow birds" flying south to their homes in both Arizona and Texas. Although, between traveling south in the winter and enjoying the Northwoods summers, Clyde's work ethic pushed him to pursue a second career in real estate for a number of years. Clyde was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and the Lions Club as well as an active member of his Catholic Church. He enjoyed many hobbies through the years including woodworking, hunting, fishing for "keepers" and watching NASCAR.
His family and friends will remember his wealth of knowledge, love for his family and eagerness to get the party started with an evening happy hour. His years of travel and abundance of friends are evidence that he lived a noteworthy life.
He is survived by the love of his life of over 58 years, Betty Ann Scott; their 3 beautiful children Anna Mathy (Greg), Mary Scott (Brian), David Scott (Jennifer); loving grandchildren Amber (Chris), Evan (Summer), Ashley, Mariah, McKinley & Brice; as well as his siblings Richard Scott (Linda) & Veneta Johnston (Bruce); and many nieces and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Scott Sr. and Letitica Babbs, as well as his son in-law, Wade Hummer.
Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 19th at 12:00 pm at St. Albert’s Catholic Church in Land O’Lakes, WI with a visitation from 10:30 am till time of service. Funeral Luncheon will be at the church following the Mass.
