Dale Meives

A new journey has begun for Dale G. Meives, 77, of Phillips, WI. He passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at his home with his family. Dale was born on March 24, 1946, to John and Ruth (Cork) Meives, in Phillips. 
A lifelong resident of Phillips, Dale graduated in 1964 from Phillips High School before going to serve his county with the United States Army in the Vietnam War. Returning home, he took over the family farm. After being family friends and pen-pals during the war, Dale married Karen Williams August 3, 1968, they shared 54 years together and raised 3 children.
He enjoyed hunting, quiet UTV Ranger rides in the woods with his dogs, cards with friends, and making others smile and laugh. He loved being the Barn Boss at the Price County Fair and mentoring the 4H youth to grow and excel. 
Dale is survived by his wife; children, Brian (Lisa), Bruce (Stephanie), and Beth (Don) Sauter; grandchildren, Kyle, Megan, Trent, Lorren, Glenn, Lindsey, and Mason; and one great-granddaughter, Autumn; Japanese son and daughter, Tetsuya and Mariko; siblings, Lorraine (Lloyd) Stunkel, Margaret (Larry) Grant; and Army brother, Ed (Becky) Summers.
He is preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law; sister, Virginia Kramar; brother-in-law, Don Williams; and Army brother, Denny Jager.
A Celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 103 Trinity Dr, Phillips, WI 54555, with Pastor John Trewyn officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. and continue until the time of the service at the church. Heindl-Nimsgern is assisting the family.
