DANIEL BIRD
Daniel Richard Bird, 75, Phillips, Town of Elk, died in the Flambeau Hospital in Park Falls on Tuesday, November 14, 2017. He was born on April 10, 1942, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Thomas and Elda Bird. He served his country in the United States Air Force Reserves. He was married to Barbara Thompson in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on April 6, 1968. He was employed by the Allen Bradley Company in Milwaukee, and then in 1976 he and Barbara moved to Phillips. In Phillips he was first employed by Carlson Heating, then by Marquip for over 20 years, and then finally by Phillips Plastics until the time of his retirement. He had been a member of the Phillips Volunteer Fire Department. In his free time he enjoyed mechanical work, he built his own hot rod, he enjoyed watching drag racing, deer hunting, and working in the woods with Mickey Peterson.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; by two daughters, Cheryl (Brach) Pulver, Kamas, Utah, and Pam (Jon) Rahmer, Phillips; by seven grandchildren, Braden, Ashlyn, Bryce, Blake, Brody, Lyla, and Laney; and by five brothers and sisters, Suzy, Tom, Gary, Debbie, and Derwyn. He is preceded in death by one brother, Wayne.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 18, at the Heindl Funeral Home in Phillips with Pastor Glenn Sokolowski officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.
