David J. Collins, age 46, formerly of Tomahawk, died unexpectedly on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at the Osceola Medical Center in Osceola.
David was born May 27, 1967 in Tomahawk, the son of Russell Collins and Lucinda Shore. Together for 20 years, he was married to Hollie Stuart. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, and served from 1986 - 1990. David formerly worked as a carpenter, was a driver for USF Holland, and was also employed with the Rhinelander, Tomahawk, and Brokaw Mills. He was currently employed as a driver with UPS Freight. David was an avid Nascar and Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and spending time with family and friends.

David is further survived by many of Hollie's extended family members, and David's friends who were like brothers to him - Ray Hard and Randy Carstensen. He was preceded in death by his father, Russell, father-in-law, John O'Shaughnessy, and grandparents, Raymond Shore, Richard Collins, Sr., and Rowena Collins.
Funeral Services with full Military Honors for David Collins will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 23, 2013 at the Krueger Family Funeral Home in Tomahawk. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., and again on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow services at Greenwood Cemetery in Tomahawk.
