David G. Leverenz, age 50, formerly of Tomahawk, died unexpectedly, Friday, November 15, 2013 in Atlanta, Georgia.
Dave was born September 3, 1963 in Delvan, the son of Erwin and Ann (Brehm) Leverenz. He graduated from St. Robert's Catholic School in Merrill, and from Tomahawk High School in Tomahawk. Following graduation, her entered the U.S. Navy, and was trained as a flight simulator specialist. He enjoyed working on simulators and was employed by Northwest Airlines for over 20 years, until their sale in 2012 to Delta Airlines where he was presently employed in Atlanta. He was an active sportsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, football, and baseball. He also loved to read and cook, and spent many years teaching and coaching baseball and football. People close to David knew him best as a good, kind-hearted man who was always willing to give a hand to those in need.
Survivors include: sons, Sean (Jaime) Leverenz, Porter, Indiana, Corey Leverenz, New Prague, Minnesota; grandson, Logan Leverenz; mother, Ann Leverenz, Tomahawk; sister, Mary (Josef) Verner, Issaquah, Washington; brothers, Thomas (Nola) Leverenz, Flower Mound, Texas, Richard (Lori) Leverenz, Lacrosse, Gary (Cathy) Leverenz, Madison. David is further survived by many nieces and nephews, his special friend - Lori Matthies; and his former wife, Jean Kimmons. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister - Jane Leverenz.
A Memorial Mass for David Leverenz will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 25, 2013 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk. Fr. John Anderson will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass at 11:00 a.m.
