David Phillip Swearingen, age 77 of Mercer, WI passed away on Wednesday, February 21st at Aspirus Ironwood Hospital. Dave was born on June 15, 1946 at Grandview Hospital in Ironwood, MI the son of Paul and Phyllis Swearingen. He graduated from Mercer High School and was a bartender in the Milwaukee area for many years.
Dave loved sports and excelled in Basketball and Baseball and was inducted to the Mercer Hall of Fame.
He is survived by his daughter Candee DeCarlo and his sister Mary (Ken Stienke) Swearingen and his twin brother Darrell (Carol) Swearingen and by many nieces, nephews and Aunt Winona Walters and further survived by his favorite Coach Leverson, he loved that man and they remained friends to the end.
Dave was preceded by his parents Paul and Phyllis Swearingen, his sister Elaine Swearingen Foote and his brother Keith Swearingen and son Rick DeCarlo.
Celebration of Life for Dave will be held on Saturday, March 23rd from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Great Northern Banquet Hall in Mercer, WI.
