Dolores "Dee" Rummel (nee: Harry), age 88, formerly of Alliance and Louisville, Ohio, and Tomahawk, Wisconsin, joined her husband of 70 years, Jerry, to be with the Lord on August 26, 2014. At the time of her death, she was a resident of Friendly Village in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, under the care of Ministry Hospice.
Dee was born February 3, 1926 in Alliance, Ohio. She was a graduate of Alliance High School. While Jerry was away in the U.S. Navy during WWII, she worked at a Taylorcraft as a "Rosie the Riveter"; she had also worked at the Five & Dime, was a hostess/waitress at the Virginian Restaurant, and retired from the Belden Village Lighting Center, where she was a lighting consultant. Dee was also an accomplished seamstress and did sewing and alterations at home during most of her years as a resident of Alliance.
She held memberships to Eastern Star, Order of Amaranth, Ladies Auxiliary of Tadmor Shrine, and Ladies Auxiliary of BPOE #467.
Dee is survived by a daughter, Linda (Patrick) Hoffman, of Tomahawk, Wisconsin; two sons, Eric (Sandra) Rummel, of Rootstown, Ohio, and Dana (Ethel) Rummel, of Port Orange, Florida; sister, Shirley (Robert) Patterson, of Alliance, Ohio; 11 grandchildren - locally, Tricia (Paul) Samundsen, and 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry, on April 25, 2014; her parents, Jesse and Iva (nee: Sitler) Harry; a sister, Joanne Mummert; a brother, Harry, Jr; and a son, Kenneth Rummel.
A Memorial Service will be planned at a later date for both Dee and Jerry.
