Delphine C Hilbert

Delphine 'Del' Hilbert, age 86, W5894 Theisen Road, Tomahawk, passed away peacefully in her sleep Thursday, September 19, 2013. Del was born June 15, 1927 in Hancock, Michigan, the daughter of Mario and Johanna (Scussel) Caramella. She attended St. Ignatius Grade School in Houghton, Michigan, and was a 1945 graduate of Houghton High School. Del married Bob Hilbert on June 19, 1947 at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church in Houghton. Del and Bob have been residents of Tomahawk since 1951. She was a Homemaker, and was also employed as a teller with Bradley Bank for ten years. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk. Survivors include: husband, Bob Hilbert, Tomahawk; son, James (Christine) Hilbert, Willmar, Minnesota; daughters, JoAnn (Richards) Bruno, St. Louis, Missouri, Mary (John) Graf, Tomahawk; brother, Mario (Edna) Caramella, Bergland, Michigan. Del is further survived by three grandchildren, Katherine Völzing, Princeton, New Jersey, Anna (Cameron) Willard, St. Cloud, Minnesota, and Andrew Bruno, St. Louis, Missouri, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Helen Cummings. A Mass of Christian Burial for Del Hilbert will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk. Father John Anderson will officiate. The family will receive friends at the Krueger Family Funeral Home on Monday, September 23rd from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., with a Vigil Service to begin at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial take place on Wednesday, September 25th at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Houghton, Michigan. Memorials are appreciated to the St. Mary's Legacy Fund.
