Dennis R. Trapp

Dennis R. Trapp, age 72, lifelong resident of Arbor Vitae, WI passed away on Friday, August 5th at his home with his family by his side. Dennis was born on September 21, 1943 in Milwaukee, WI the son of Raymond and Mae (nee Harding) Trapp. Dennis attended AV-W Grade School, Lakeland Union High School and Houghton Tech for Sawyer school. He married Peggy Zeinert on July 14, 1962. Dennis worked for Pukall Lumber Company for 43 years as Head Sawyer.

Dennis was a member of the Arbor Vitae Fire Department for many years and every year he volunteered to cook the beef for the Fireman’s Picnic. He was a proud lifetime member of the NRA, North American Hunting Club, Lifetime member of Buckmasters, State of Wisconsin Bow Competitor and set a record in Pope & Young for his successful bow hunt of a 6x6 Elk.

Dennis was an avid hunter and enjoyed all the hunting trips with many friends throughout the years. Dennis owned and operated Trapp Archery and Guns; he loved teaching people the art of archery and guns. If Dennis was not working or hunting you could find him riding around in his Jeep, golfing, fishing, reloading or camping. Dennis was very witty and his family and friends will miss his one-liners.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Peggy of Arbor Vitae, WI and Children: Tim (Christine) Trapp of DeForest, WI; Brenda (John) Michaelson of Arbor Vitae, WI and Becky (Curt) Howard of Woodruff, WI and by his Grandchildren: Matt (Megan) Trapp of San Antonio, TX; Courtney Michaelson of Arbor Vitae, WI; Kimmy Trapp of Milwaukee, WI; Dale Michaelson of Arbor Vitae, WI; Brandon Howard of Milwaukee, WI and Brett Howard of Woodruff, WI and by Great-Grandchildren: Payton, Paige and Brady. He is further survived by his Siblings: Barry Trapp of Oma, WI; Shirley (Gary) Engel of Pensacola, Fl and JoAnne Trapp of Milwaukee, WI and by his beloved dog, “Tanna” and “Kitty” cat and by many other relatives and friends.

Dennis was preceded in death by his Son; Dale Trapp and his Parents; Raymond and Mae Trapp and by Brother; Johnny Trapp and Sister-in-law; Cathie Sue Trapp.

Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, August 9th at 5:30 PM at Nimsgern Funeral Home Chapel in Woodruff, WI with a Memorial Gathering from 4:00 PM till time of service.
