Diane Biwan Obituary
Diane (Di) Mary Biwan, 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 8th, 2023 at Milestone in Woodruff, WI.
Di was born to Martin and Bernice (Trossen) DeBack on December 19, 1935, in Sheboygan, WI. She graduated from Sheboygan North High School. Di married Joseph Biwan on August 8, 1959. She worked at Gottsacker Insurance and earned her real estate license, receiving a commission on one home sale which she was very proud of.
Di was very active in her community, including St. John’s parish in Kohler, WI, Friends of the Library, Lioness, and Snow Bunnies in Manitowish Waters and the Boulder Junction Food Pantry.
Di loved playing bridge, sheepshead, reading, puzzles, and woodworking. Sports included tennis, bowling, waterskiing, and snowmobiling. She was an avid Packer, Badgers, Notre Dame and Bucks fan. She also started enjoying Brewers games. She loved pontooning with friends and family. One of her passions was feeding and watching the hummingbirds.
Di was a great friend to many and loved being with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed a house full of people, whether friends, family, teammates, or classmates, and always had fun. She was always willing to lend an ear. One of her greatest joys in her later years was spoiling her grand puppies, Stormi, Pixie, and Cosmo. Di and Joe’s family, grandchildren, and good friend Char Bocchini went on an Alaskan cruise for their 60th wedding anniversary.
Di is survived by her husband, Joe Biwan, two daughters, Carla (DuWayne) Hameister and Marti (Alan) Albee, and one son, Thomas (Patty) Biwan. Six grandchildren Joseph (Katie) Hameister Revelis, Michael Hameister, Ashley Albee, JJ Albee, Jack Biwan, and Ella Biwan.
Di is preceded in death by her son Daniel Biwan, parents Martin & Bernice DeBack, sister Janet Kiefer, brother in-law Frank Kiefer, brother in-law William Behrens, sister in-law Rosemary Behrens, mother in-law Rose Biwan, father in-law Joseph Biwan, and her favorite dog, Brandy Ann.
