Diane Marie Schlichting

On May 3, 2022 Diane Marie (Wilt) Schlichting, age 76 of Minocqua, WI went to the emergency room with extreme pain in her lower right back. She was immediately transferred to Marshfield Clinic, Weston Center, she stayed there until May 10, 2022. Diane came home that day in the care of hospice and unexpectedly passed to heaven on May 20. 2022 with family by her side.

Diane was born on April 8, 1946 in Springfield, MN the daughter of Roman and Cleova (Eickholt) Wilt. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN. Diane met David Schlichting in a chemistry class during the summer session at Mankato State in 1966. They got married on August 31, 1968, in Lamberton, MN. Diane was the manager at EDS and retired in 1997.

She was involved with the Quilting Guild, and was a past member of the Levi’s & Lace Square Dance club. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, crocheting, knitting, quilting, birding, playing cards and traveling the United States with Dave.

She is survived by her husband David B. Schlichting and her daughter EvaMarie (Schlichting) Bybee and honorary granddaughter’s Becky and Stephany. Also survived by her sister-in-law Mae Morien and her special grand puppy Hunny Bunny. Many cousins of the Lamberton, MN area and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends from Minocqua and Madison.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents Roman Peter and Cleova Elizabeth (Eickholt) Wilt and also her Uncle Herman Peter Eickholt.

Memorial Services for Diane will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 11:00 am at Calvary Lutheran Church in Minocqua, WI.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Father Edward J. Flanagan’s BoysTown.org or SanDiegoZooWildlifeAlliance.org.
