D0NALD ABRAHAM
Donald Arthur Abraham, 87, Phillips, died in the Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home in Phillips on January 9, 2016. He was born in Winter, Wisconsin, on November 18, 1928, the son of John and Iva (Luke) Abraham. From 1951 to 1953 he served his country in Korea during the Korean War with the 15th Recon Battalion of the United States Army. He worked in the woods with his father, did cement work with Spacek’s, and as a carpenter with Bud Emmond. He was a member of the Fifield American Legion Post. In his free time he enjoyed tinkering, fishing, gardening baking cookies, making wine, and travel, especially his trips to Hawaii and out West.
He is survived by one sister, Selma Wright, Phillips, by two brothers, Franklin (Kathy), Janesville, WI, and William (Judy), Sanesville, WI; by his longtime companion, Agnes Pass and her children June, Joyce, and Wendell, and by his faithfull companion, his dog Princess. He is preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys Ziegler and Laverne Glissendorf; and by one brother, Norman.
Memorial services will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Saturday, June 4, at the Heindl Funeral Home in Phillips with Pastor John Trewyn officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, June 4, from 1:30 P.M. until the time of services. Inurnment will be in the Forest Home Cemetery in Fifield on Saturday, June 4, at 12:30 P.M. with full military honors conducted by the Fifield American Legion Post No. 532
