Donald A. Dierks, age 71, of 11172 Bishop Lane, Tomahawk, passed away Monday, April 12, 2010 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau. Don was born on July 20, 1938 in Park Rapids, Minnesota to Arthur and Vivian (Kruger) Dierks. He first was married to Linda Schroeder, she preceded him in death in 2002. Don married Alma Haroldson on July 15, 2006 in Tomahawk, she survives. Don was a veteran of the US Navy and was employed for many years as an auto body repairman in Palatine, Illinois. He had been visiting the Tomahawk area since 1987 and moved here permanently in 2000. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling. He loved watching all star wrestling, was an avid Packers fan, a former volunteer fireman, and was active in his church, St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Tomahawk. Survivors include: Wife, Alma 3 Daughters, Dana (Paul) Imaoka Lindenhurst, IL Dawn (Steve) Jurczyk Lake In The Hills, IL Joy (Bob) Houser Lake In The Hills, IL Son, Troy Dierks Holiday Hills, IL Step Son, Clyde Sidebottom Wausau, WI Step Daughter, Alice (Tim) Verpoorten Stevens Point, WI 4 Sisters, Lorraine Voss Detroit, MI Joanne (Maryln) Avenson Park Rapids, MN Margarete Rinde Park Rapids, MN Kathleen (Mike) Williamson Hartsville, SC 3 Brothers, Earl (Sharon) Dierks Maple Lake, MN William (Patricia) Dierks Milford, OH Fredrick (Barbara) Dierks Princeton, MN Don is further survived by 6 Grandchildren, 5 Step Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandchild, and 2 Step Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services for Don Dierks will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 14th from the Krueger Family Funeral Home. Rev. Mark Schoenherr will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 4:00 until the time of services at 7:00 p.m. A Military Tribute service will precede the service. A service will follow on Friday, April 16th at 1:00 p.m. from Ahlgrims Funeral Home in Palatine, Il. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Randhill Park in Arlington Heights, IL.
