DONALD TOM SR.
Donald Frank Tom Sr., Phillips, died in Lakeside Villa in Phillips while under the care of Flambeau Home Health and Hospice on Wednesday, August 14, 2019. He was born on August 4, 1932, in Wisconsin, the son of Laddy and Margaret (Dill) Tom. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War in Korea as a Tank Mechanic. He was married to Donna Trentner, and they later divorced. He was employed by the Louis Allis Company in Milwaukee as a armature and motor winder, retiring in June of 1988 He was a member of the Word of Life Family Church, and of the Lane Kreiling American Legion Post No. 122 of Phillips. He proudly participated in Honor flight Number 22. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, travel, doing word cross, making lawn ornaments, and in his words “Sitting and doing nothing, especially watching water go by.”
He is survived by his son, Donald Jr. (Connie), Phillips, by his daughter, Sally Jo, Milwaukee, by one grandson, Aaron (Tara), by two great grandchildren, Jacie and Jadyn, by one brother, Raymond, Phillips by his caregivers, Chris (Mark) Kempen and Lee Lamoreaux, and by cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Bernard and Elmer and by his special friend, Jean.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, August 23, at the Lakeside Cemetery in Phillips with Pastor Jason Bridge of the Word of Life Family Church officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the Lane Kreiling American Legion Post No. 122 and the Frank and Michael Baran VFW Post No. 5778.
