Donald Harte

Donald J. Harte, age 82, of 3110 County Road L, Tomahawk passed away Sunday, July 24, 2011 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk. Don was born on August 8, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Joseph and Bertha (Krempel) Harte. He was married to Gloria Podzimek on September 17, 1949 also in Chicago. She passed away in 1999. Don was a retired lithographer, working at Neuman Rudolph Printing in Chicago until 1991. He had been a summer resident of the Tomahawk area for the past 50 years. Don was an all state football player in high school. He enjoyed antiques, garage sales, fishing, and food. Survivors include: 2 sons Michael Harte Tomahawk Christopher (Ellen) Harte Carroll Stream, IL 5 grandchildren Mike, Joe, and Brianna Harte Megan and Jon Schlachter Don was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and 2 daughters, Pat Schlachter and Donna Harte. Funeral Services for Donald Harte will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. from the Krueger Family Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00. Burial will be at Prairie Rapids Cemetery in the Town of Nokomis.
