Donald John “DJ” Craig, age 66 of Lake Tomahawk, WI died on Saturday, February 10th at the Seasons of Life Hospice House in Woodruff, WI. DJ was born on December 1, 1951 in Milwaukee, WI the son of John P. and Pauline C. (nee Doll) Craig. He graduated from Blessed Sacrament Grade School in 1965 and in 1969 from Norte Dame High School. He attended UW-Milwaukee with a double major in Biological Aspects of Conservation and Civil Engineering.
DJ was very active in his lifetime; he worked for Envirex Inc., a manufacturer of sewage/water treatment equipment; worked in the Asphalt business, owned and operated Cloudnine Bar & Resort in Harshaw, WI; worked as a trailer spotter at Rhinelander Paper Mill and as a Set-crew leader for Steenberg Homes.
DJ, also helped serve his community by helping on lake association, he helped write and organize the Comprehensive Planning Commission for the town of Lake Tomahawk and volunteered to transport McNaughton inmates to Saturday evening Masses.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and participated in golfing and hockey. He was an avid Badger, Brewer and Bucks Fan and a stockholder of the Packers. But the most pleasure he got was being a “Gear Head”. DJ cherished riding his motorcycle and driving his corvette. Every Fourth of July parade, the Lake Tomahawk Lioness of the Year would ride in his corvette.
DJ is survived by 2 Children; Jennifer and Jason, by his Father, John and Sister, Diane (Jim) Caracci, and by other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline on November 14, 2015.
Memorial Gathering for DJ will be held on Saturday, February 17th from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Raymond Sloan Community Center in Lake Tomahawk, WI. Funeral Mass for DJ will be held on Monday, February 19th at 5:00 PM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Woodruff, WI with a gathering from 4:30 PM till time of service. Burial will take place at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Woodruff, WI in the spring.
DJ wants all of his family and friends to be at peace and happy because he no longer is suffering, is out of pain and “Everything is Heavenly.”
In lieu of flowers memorials to Diocese of Superior, Lakeland Food Pantry, Disabled American Veterans, Special Olympics or Make A Wish Foundation.
